Smith currently holds the school record for the 400m and 200m. Sport(s) Played: Shep only ran track and cross-country. He is also a marathon runner. Sport(s) Coached: He coached track for 18 years, 10 of which he was the head coach. He also coaches cross country, which he has done for 17 years. Both of the sports he coaches at freedom. He has recently coached girls’ basketball here this year. Favorite Pro-Athlete: Shep’s favorite athlete is Steven Prefontaine. He is an Olympic runner, who was at one time the best in the world.
