Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland

= Let’s investigate things that begin with the letter M: Magnificent, Magical, Masterpiece. Could Tim Burton have recreated the insane visions on Lewis Carroll any better? Burton and Johnny Depp team up for their seventh time together in Alice in Wonderland, which hit theatres March 5. This 3D film has beautiful colors and eye catching graphics matched with mind blowing dialogue. You have to be nearly “mad as a hatter” to understand the true beauty. Crazy things go on in this movie: Alice rides a hat, shrinks, and then grows again nearly three times each. On top of that, she partakes in a terrifying battle with a jabawoki! To watch the film the right way, 3D is where it’s at. The colors kind of explode in your face and it gives you much more of an experience. The movie begins with Alice falling down the rabbit hole for the second time, where she ends up in a room full of doors. After escaping from the room, she is accused of not being “The Alice”. Throughout the movie, Alice struggles to find herself whilst she is forced to become Wonderland’s Champion and save everyone from the Red Queen. During her mission, she meets various crazy characters, one of them becoming her best friend: The Mad Hatter, played by the one and only Johnny Depp. Another charming character she befriends is The White Queen, played by Anne Hathaway. A Tim Burton film would not be complete without his wife, Helena Bonham Carter, who brilliantly plays the angry Red Queen. Alice herself is played by the fresh face of Mia Wasikowska, who did a stunning job portraying the character. Alice in Wonderland might just be one of the best movies ever created by Tim Burton. So if you sometimes think of as many as six impossible things before breakfast, and you haven’t seen Alice in Wonderland yet, you’re crazy.
