Rockband 2

Rock Band 2 is the sequel to Rock band. It is the only real competition in this genre of video games for Guitar Hero. Rock band came onto the scene a couple years ago trying to outshine the extremely popular Guitar Hero series. It boasted that it had all the instruments of major band instead of just the guitar. They were the only ones that could put a dent into Guitar Hero’s armor. Rock Band caused the Guitar Hero series to re-evaluate what they were doing. Guitar Hero made a major change in order to keep up with the rising of Rock Band. They incorporate other instruments in their latest release Guitar Hero: World Tour. Although, Rock Band kept up the pace releasing their new and improved Rock Band 2. This sequel boasts songs from many popular well known bands, such as Paramore, Soundgarden, the Foo Fighters and Nirvana. It seems that Rock band 2 focuses more on more recent music from the ‘90s to today, while Guitar Hero relies on the music of the past. Rock Band 2 does have some good music of yesterday though. There are even favorite’s in there for the parents, such as Motorhead’s, Ace of Spades, and Anyway You Want It by Journey. The Who’s Pinball Wizard is also a playable song. In addition to the 84 songs included on the game disc and 20 free downloadable songs, hundreds of additional downloadable songs are being released for the Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 3 versions; all of these songs, existing and future, are compatible with all Rock Band titles. The new interface is much more user friendly. The whole family can get in on the action now. It’s simple enough for anyone at any age to play. I have four little brothers and sister and everyone has fun with this game. We can have someone on the drums, guitar, and even someone rockin’ out on the mic. Even my parents were having a good time watching. If you have ever played any of the Guitar Hero games, you will easily be able to pick up the guitar and jam with the best of them. The drums on the other hand, are not quite that easy. If you plan to get good, I suggest spending several hours in tutorials and practice mode. Any real lover of music should purchase this game. It is the most fun you can have playing a video game. It is the perfect party game. If you’re too lazy to actually learn to play a real instrument, then this is for you. Within a couple of days, you’ll be able to tear it up like Hendrix. This game outshines all others in its genre. Pick up a copy next time you’re out. I promise you a good time.
