Blackhawk Hockey Cruises to Victory Backed By Freedom Duo: Blackhawk wins 6-3

The Blackhawk Cougars Hockey team defeated the Meadville Bulldogs 6-3 on December 11 backed by a pair of goals from Juniors Kenny Rose and Alex Lundy. Both players scored their first goals of the season tonight in the important win for the Blackhawk team that is currently in the playoff hunt. Rose also added an assist as his plus/minus (which measures amount of goals for vs goals against when a player is on the ice) was +4 on the night.

“It was great team work tonight. Glad I was able to contribute to the win with a goal and an assist,” Rose said. Prior to this game Rose had only one assist through the first eight games. His two points tonight raises him to three on the year.

“We played extremely aggressive and with a lot of passion tonight. We heard this team was a tough match and we came out ready to play,” Lundy Said. Lundy’s goal was his first point of this season breaking his eight game scoreless streak to start the season.

The team’s next game is Thursday December 18 at Brady’s Run against their rival the Beaver Bobcats.
