Every year, sports teams put together different fundraisers in order to grow their cash inflow for their accounts, which is then saved for future events. This year, it is a little different for the cheerleaders, as they officially have their own boosters for their team instead of being combined with the football team. This enables the cheer team to have the opportunity to raise more money for the squad.
With the addition of their own boosters, the cheer squad is going to put forward more fundraisers than in previous years in order to get enough funds for the team. To start their new journey with the boosters, they are putting together an Easter egg fundraiser to help grow the support in the community. Coach Alyssa Barone put together this fundraiser to help support the cheerleaders and their upcoming journey.
This fundraiser is unique in nature, as it allows all the cheerleaders to have the chance to participate in it. The fundraiser was sent out to the community with the chance to buy pre-filled Easter eggs from the team. They have many different options for the amount of eggs they can buy, ranging from 25 eggs for $15 to 100 eggs for $60.
The delivery of the eggs is what makes this fundraiser special. Customers who placed the order had the opportunity to have the cheerleaders deliver the eggs to them personally by putting pre-filled eggs on their doorstep. Most interestingly, they had the chance to hide them around their yard and create an Easter egg hunt for the customers. Customers also had the option to purchase them for themselves or their family, which gave them the opportunity to have a surprise Easter egg hunt or a delicious snack delivered to their doorstep.
“The cheer Easter egg fundraiser was a lot of fun, and all of the cheerleaders got to deliver the eggs to people’s houses and hide the eggs in their yard,” Kallie Brown (12) said. “It was fun doing it with each other, and it was also really cool to see all of the kids excited to find the eggs throughout their yard.”
Each cheerleader was able to select the houses in which they wanted to deliver the Easter eggs as well, giving them a chance to bond with their teammates outside of seasonal practices or regular games.
“I loved going around to different houses with my friends and delivering the eggs,” Madi Knopp (9) said.
The deadline for purchasing the eggs was on March 28, with the delivery date April 4. This gave the cheerleaders enough time to receive orders and also deliver them to the customers. The cheerleaders hope to fundraise enough money for their team to continue supporting their annual traditions as the seasons progress.
This was the second time the cheerleaders hosted this fundraiser, and with enough support from the community, they plan on hosting many other fundraisers in the future to continue to support their team.
