With a previous season of zero wins, the girls have managed to win two non-section games this year so far. This may not improve their current record, but it is a step in the right direction. This does not discourage the girls, led by captains Caitlin Frain and Kristi Tibolet. Almost every player on the team is not only on the varsity team, but the junior varsity (JV) team also. That means that at the beginning of every game, most of the team had just walked off the court. Captain Caitlin Frain said,, “I give major props to all of the girls who play a JV game and then play the varsity game right after.” There are girls on the team that try equally hard in both games and even though the pressure is on, the passion is still prevalent, Frain said. Next year the team will be led by current juniors Lexie Challis, Carly Arbes, and Shya Moon. The team is hoping that the hard work ethic and determination that was improved this year will continue into next season. As the underclassmen learn to cope with the routine of two games per night and the usual strain of the season, the girls’ basketball team strives to bring their current attitudes to the games next year to rack up as many wins as possible.
