Just Another Day for Love

Valentine’s Day is always filled with stress and anxiety when the focus is on what one may or may not get out of it. Girls always expect too much out of their boyfriends and guys just can’t seem to plan the perfect night on their own. Every girl imagines her special someone taking her on a romantic picnic in the park, with roses, lemonade and a homemade meal while watching the sunset. They know it isn’t going to happen, but they need something to complain to their friends about later. They say diamonds are girl’s best friends but while in high school, flowers should be a girl’s best friend; don’t be a gold digger. Teenage boys typically are not loaded with cash, and if they don’t have a job, then you’ll either get a card or a kiss. On the other hand, boys always get the short end of the stick. Girls expect gifts and guys usually deliver, but rarely is it vice versa. Come on girls, buy your boyfriend something as well. We have decided that two things are true about Valentine’s Day. It’s stressful for people in a relationship since they have to buy things for their “other half,” and it’s stressful for single people too. Who wants a holiday that celebrates their loneliness? Everyone around you gets love and presents and then you get nothing and nobody. Ouch. On Valentine’s Day, the school usually sells flowers for people to give to other students. It’s sad to see someone who doesn’t get a flower. This Valentine’s Day why not get some candy or a flower for your best friend, mom, teacher, or anyone else that is important to you; it doesn’t just have to be something celebrated by couples. As for those in a relationship, you don’t have to get jewelry or shop for an entire month to find the perfect present. Don’t stress, it’s just another day.
