DEAL EARNS EAGLE SCOUT RANK
Local Beaver County resident Bryson Deal (12) was recently awarded his Eagle Scout rank through BSA Troop 444. “It’s an honor just to be able to represent both my troop and my community as an Eagle Scout, I learned a lot through earning the ranks and now to be at the precipice of what scouting has to offer. I feel ready to take on the next step in my life,” Deal said. Deal has been an involved member of scouting for over a decade, from Cub Scout Pack 444 and BSA Troop 444. Deal chose a less conventional project, starting and managing a softball team for his church. “Scouting isn’t always seen as the coolest thing, but it’s definitely taught me a lot of life lessons that I wouldn’t have learned anywhere else,” Deal said.

Janna Kline (12) recently earned her Eagle Scout Rank through the newly established Troop 9444. Kline was one of the founding members of 9444 and held the rank of Senior Patrol leader for two years, before she became the Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. ”Being an Eagle Scout means so much to me. I put in 3 years of hard work and finally got to my destination in my scouting career. I feel honored to know I am part of the 4% of scouts that receive Eagle. Being an Eagle doesn’t just mean I get more opportunities. Being an Eagle Scout means that I can guide fellow scouts towards the accomplishment and show them what you can achieve,” Kline said. For her eagle project, Kline refurbished a vacant preschool room of her church so it could be used by the youth group. Her renovations included replacing lightswitches, repainting the walls, and adding shelving units.
