Snow rollers are a natural phenomenon that occur only under extremely specific conditions. There must be a thin sheet of ice covered with about an inch of loose snow in order for these intricate circles to form. Wind pushes the loose snow, forming log-shaped snow rollers that are often hollow in the center. On Jan. 30, over a dozen snow rollers bigger than the size of a hand could be found on the football field.
