Learners for life: Wall Celebrating student pursuit of further education

As the weather changes, a new round of athletes gear up for the oncoming season. Stats are mentioned on DTV and students are invited to sup-port the team at the next game. Sporting events seem to be well-known around the school, but a new incorporation from Principal Mr. Timothy Dadich aims to provide recognition concerning education. “It’s always been something I’ve wanted to do. I think it’s the purpose of a school to create lifelong learners,” Dadich said. The wall directly across from the attendance office is filled with picture frames and the title “Lifelong Learners.” On this wall, students are pictured with an acceptance letter indicative of their future plans. “We’re looking for anything, [because] every-one’s different. What I look for is something that signifies [students’] dedication to continue their learning outside of high school.” Letters of acceptance range from universities to technical facilities. So far, Senior Kristian Bowser is one of the students pictured on the “Lifelong Learners” wall for his acceptance into the Pittsburgh Technical Institute and is proud to be recognized. By submitting his letter of acceptance for all to see, Bowser’s goal is “to provide an example for future students of Freedom Area High School.”
