After being named the section champions at Central Valley on Jan. 18, the wrestling team got in a few more matches before moving on to competing individually. Following the Central Valley match, the team wrestled North Catholic, West Greene and attended a dual match at Sharon, where they saw schools like Burgettstown, Elizabeth Forward, Girard and Knoch.

On Friday, Jan. 27, the Bulldogs took on the North Catholic Trojans at Freedom. The team was led by pins from senior Tanner Millward and junior Ryan Kredel. Millward brought the team up six points, and Kredel scored another six points as well. Other members on the team won by forfeits. Overall, the Bulldogs were able to win together as a team with a final score of 63-12.

On Saturday, Jan. 28, the Bulldogs traveled to Sharon to take on five other teams. They fell to Burgettstown 52-18. Kredel and senior Trenton McCray were still able to take pins for themselves during these matchups. The team also fell to Girard 42-31. The team still had some pins made by Sophomore Gavyn McCray, Millward and Kredel. Trenton McCray, and sophomore Jordan Delon were able to win their matches as well. The team was able to beat three other opposing teams during the day. The Bulldogs gained a win over Sharon 42-27. Along with some wins from forfeits, Kredel and Trenton McCray pinned both of their opponents during this round. The wrestlers also won against Elizabeth Forward 54-18. Millward and Delon won their matches by pinning their opponents. Gavyn McCray won by injury default along with forfeit wins. Keeping up the momentum, they ended the day on a high note, winning against Knoch 47-15. Freedom had pins this round from freshman Charles Brenckle, sophomore Jason Shiring, Gavyn McCray and Kredel. Junior James Couch, Delon and Millward won against their opponents too.

On Feb. 18, Freedom traveled to Keystone Oaks to compete in the District 7AA Section, where members individually represented themselves. Brenckle won his match from a pin in round 1. Moving on to the quarterfinals, he also won his match 11-8. Brenckle however fell in the semifinal, coming in fifth place. Gavyn McCray made a pin in the quarter finals and semifinals. Unfortunately, Gavyn McCray was pinned in the championship finals. Millward won his match in the semifinal round 5-3. He then was later pinned in the championship final. Kredel won his match 6-0, but then was later pinned as well. Freshman ZeShawn Williams started off with a pin, then later was pinned by his opponent. Last but not least, Trenton McCray won in the semifinal round 5-0, but he unfortunately was also pinned in the later rounds.

As the Bulldogs wrapped up their matches as a team, they held a 10-11 record. The wrestlers have now moved onto competing individually, which means their wins will no longer count towards their team record.
