Red and White? No, Freedom is going green! The new Environmental Club began their tenure as aclub last week thanks to Mrs. Siegel. Roughly about fifteen students have signed up to take part, although the club is still opento anybody interested. “I’m excitedbecause we’re helping the environment and it has great potential,” sayssophomore/member of the club, Emily Croll. Clubmembers passed out boxes Friday morning to every classroom that are to beplaced next to garbage cans: recycling made easy! Once a week, the ninth gradeenvironmental science classes will come around and empty these boxes. If your class, though, seems to go through an abnormally large quantity of paper weekly, teachers can contact Mrs. Siegel about dealing with it. This is not allthe club is planning on doing. Mrs. Siegel plans on returning to theBeaver County Envirothon Competition forthe second time this school year. Comprised of a mix of labs and tests, thisgroup competition is held in the Spring yearly. If you appreciatesaving trees, or just wanted to know why your classroom is now decorated with acardboard box, you can thank the Environmental Club!
