Spring is finally here; doesn’t everything seem to be perking up just a bit? I don’t know about you, but I know my mood certainly has lifted. After all, seniors, we only have a little over two months to go at FHS. We’re on the homestretch. So what now? Do we spend the next two months cherishing our last walk to Miss Ross’s room, our last plate of the school’s mac and cheese, and our very last locker clean-out? Or do we rush through each day with the sole intent of just making it out alive and sane? I don’t know about you, but I plan on savoring every moment. As much as we all hate dragging ourselves out of bed every morning, I know next semester, when I don’t have to wake up at five thirty, I am going to miss meeting my very best friends in the same spot every morning. In fact, I can think of a number of things that I’m going to miss next year. These next two months, I plan on paying a little more attention to the little, familiar things that I’ve seen every day for the last four years. Sure, I may not look back fondly upon printing my classroll every Friday back during freshman year or staying after every day of the week for different clubs and missing out on after school naps, but was it worth it? Without a doubt. Although things may not have always been hunky-dory, FHS has provided us with more than just yearly planners with holographic covers. After all, this was the stomping grounds on which I met many of my best friends; isn’t that one of the primary purposes of high school? I’m going to go with yes, FHS certainly proved successful there. My advice to you, fellow seniors: the finish line is in sight, but once you cross it, you can’t run the race again. Enjoy every step you take.
