Animals, rides and sleep: Post prom plans

Prom is usually the best time of a teenager’s high school career, but the next day is just as important. Showing off your messy prom hair from that night is absolutely required. The fun adventure you have with your friends and date the morning after is just as fun as the prom itself. There are a few ways to have a good time, including roller coasters, water slides, bowling, picnics and even exotic animals. Imagine, after dancing for hours and sleeping even less than that, you can go out and have a great time! “A bunch of us decided to go to the zoo because we thought it would be different than most things people do after prom,” Junior Maddi Lewis said. Lewis and her friends are planning to go to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium to see all of the animals and eat at a giant picnic. Each member of the group is going to donate money to a food fund and they are all going to go shopping right before they leave. Though the zoo seems like the perfect place to go, Autumn Hunter is planning on going somewhere else, which she deemed the most fun. “Me and my friends are going to Kennywood, because I want to ride some rides,” Hunter said. “Prom is already fun, so why not keep it going all weekend long?” Hunter believes that the exciting roller coasters and water rides are exponentially better for an after prom party spot than a mellow safari walk and picnic. Though some people are making extravagant plans, others are taking a more chill approach. “I’m going home to sleep; I’ll be tired. [My friends] are going to Cedar Point, but I don’t want to. It’s a long drive, a lot of gas and a lot of money,” said Junior Sam Beckey. Whether you decide to stay home and sleep or continue the fun through your weekend, prom will be something that you will remember for the rest of your life.
