Be anything you want to be

Everyone in the world has the needs to ex-press them-selves, to show who they are and how they are different. Not every-one applies this to themselves, though. If you do try to express how you are different, you are presenting your individuality. Being an individual is easy to want but challenging to conquer. Teenagers want nothing more than to feel accepted by their peers. They want to fit in — not stand out. Because of this, teens tend to go with the flow, which isn’t always promising. Expressing yourself in any manner says a lot about who you are. It’s noticeable that a lot of girls try to be spitting images of each other. They get the same haircut, they dress the same or they even swap out boyfriends. To everyone else besides them, it seems as if they’re not okay with who they are as a person. If you look at someone who is themselves, simply dresses in what they like and accepts who they are, you’ll see a big difference. What you see is what you get. If someone tries to be someone they’re not then obviously their personality isn’t real either. If everyone would stop hating and start appreciating the uniqueness of others, the world would be a better place. There are so many stereotypes that go around. The biggest and most popular: hipster. Of course you’re going to be judged when you do something that makes you different or stand out, but you have to look past that. In actuality, people are looking up to you, whether you realize it or not. You can’t let your haters bring you down. They should only motivate you to keep doing what you’re doing. Some people care too much about what others think. This impedes them from being who they truly want to be. Being an individual means you’re not influenced by other people’s fears. It also means you’re a leader and not a follower. Most importantly, you’re happy with life and you’re able to fully enjoy your high school career. In the end, that’s what high school is all about: finding out who you really are. If you’re spending all of your time trying to be something that you’re not, you’re only setting yourself up for failure. Whether you admit it or not, everyone wants to be that individual human being they deserve to be. So why not do it? Always remember to be yourself because everyone else is already taken.
