Fiddler gets Finalized

Singing, bottle dancing and tradition are just some of the components of this year’s musical, “Fiddler on the Roof.” “Fiddler on the Roof” is a musical about a poor Jewish family and focuses on the importance of tradition. There are five daughters in the production, three of which are growing up and finding their own paths in life. Dancing is a huge part of this production. Because of that, dancers have yet to be chosen. There will be auditions at a later date for those interested because dancers are needed in all aspects. These dances range from ensemble numbers to more complicated routines, such as the Russian, bottle and wedding dances. Zach Malinak stars as Tevye, a milkman and father while Hunter Bonzo portrays his wife Golde. Shelbie Miller, Ashley Malinak and Maura Lehocky are the three rebellious daughters. Nathan Fleming, Jesse Gaunt and Nathan James each play suitors to one of the daughters. The parts of Yente, played by Emilee Baker, and Lazar Wolf, played by Derrick Skinger, both have understudies—Emalee Sekely and Robert Raso. Understudies will continue as members of the ensemble. Rehearsal schedules will be posted on the band room doors. Any students who did not make the cast are asked to consider joining stage crew. Sign-up sheets are available outside of Mr. Fitzpatrick’s room until the end of the day today.
