Through tough practices, hard work and determination, Senior Boe Bonzo made his way to states for wrestling. He has been a four time MAC Champion, two time Section Champion, and single time WPIAL and Regional Champion. All of that hard work has paid off and lead to Bonzo placing sixth place on the state level. “I felt a lot of relief [after winning sixth place]; like a dump truck was lifted off my back,” Bonzo said. Bonzo has wrestled for 12 years, and his biggest accomplishment is placing at states. He contributes his success to “hard work and great teachers, friends and family. They have always been so supportive and my coaches and teammates are always there for me. They push me every day in practice,” he said. “My dad [has had the biggest impact on my wrestling career] because he was a good wrestler too, he doesn’t miss any matches and he is always there for me if I win or lose,” Bonzo said.
