Hard work pays off: Top 10 and Circle of Scholars honored at year-end dinners

This year for the second year in a row, Principal Tim Dadich has hosted a dinner to honor the top 10 students in the current graduating class. The top 10 seniors honored with a dinner at the Springfield Grille on May 12 were Jessica Canonge, Gigi DeWeese, Megan Figueiredo, Jordan Kester, Rachael Mogielski, Emalee Sekely, Courtney Schreiner, Jennifer Wallis, Lane Ward and Ally Wolf.
“In order to be a top 10 student, I had to really dedicate myself to my work throughout all of high school,” Senior Lane Ward said. “It is a great honor to graduate in the top 10, and underclassmen should aspire to apply themselves and want to learn.”
Students were permitted to invite one person who has inspired them throughout their time in high school.
“It’s a huge honor to be recognized by one of my students and know that I had such a positive impact on her life,” Ms. Ruthanne Gudzan said.
Freedom teachers Mrs. Meghan Boland, Mr. Aaron Fitzpatrick, Ms. Ruthanne Gudzan, Mrs. Kaylee Haggerty, Mrs. Amy Isanogle, Mr. Nathaniel Langelli, Mr. Ed Majors and Mr. Bill Saludis as well as CTC teacher Mrs. Renee DiGiacomo were selected by students in the top 10 to attend this event.
“It’s very exciting to be in the top 10, and I’m proud of everybody who made it in the top 10. It was a lot of fun to sit with teachers for the evening,” Senior Jessica Canonge said. “I think we all really enjoyed it, and it was nice to see that the teachers who we appreciate took time out of their schedules to honor us.”
On June 4, students who have maintained a 93% average or above over their entire time at FHS will be invited to attend a Circle of Scholars dinner to be honored for their hard work.
