Dear Miss Lonelyhearts – Cold War Kids For those of you who don’t know, Cold War Kids is an alternative band with a funky sound. At the beginning of the month, Cold War Kids released their latest album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts. “Miracle Mile” was the first single released on the album and the most well known song from it. My personal favorite song from Dear Miss Lonelyhearts would have to be “Lost That Easy” or “Bottled Affection.” Both songs have a completely different sound to them. I like Lost That Easy because it has a cool sound to it. Besides the way the song sounds, it has a good meaning to it. It’s about a guy who is having relationship issues and is heartbroken. He talks about he never “lost that easy” hence the title of the song. I like Bottled Affection because it’s about someone who keeps all of their feelings bottled up inside. Honestly, there isn’t a song on the album that I don’t like, but Lost That Easy and Bottled Affection are my two favorites. Compared to previous Cold War Kids albums, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts is their best one yet. Save Rock and Roll – Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy has recently recorded another album after their breakup in 2009. Save Rock and Roll is different than past Fall Out Boy albums. It has a more electric, refreshing sound to it. I personally like it because it still has the old Fall Out Boy feel, but it has a new sound to it, which I think is what they needed. My favorite song from Save Rock and Roll is “Just One Yesterday” featuring Foxes or Young Volcanoes. I like Just One Yesterday because it’s catchy, it sounds good and it’s overall a great song. I also like that there’s a girl part in the song because I think that makes it sound alot better with the meaning of the lyrics, as well. I really like Young Volcanoes because it’s a fun song. It’s not too serious and it’s also extremely catchy. I like when songs aren’t too serious because then you can enjoy yourself while it’s playing and you can dance all over the place. No, but seriously, it’s a really fun dance song. If you weren’t a Fall Out Boy fan before, I definitely recommend listening to Save Rock and Roll. Not only because it’s been five years since Fall Out Boy has written and released music, but simply because it’s awesome.
