Profile of a Bulldog Committee

The Profile of a Bulldog Committee is working to pinpoint the most important skills that all students will need when they finish high school. The committee will design a profile that will be presented to the school board and if approved, will be implemented into the high school curriculum.

PSSA and Keystones results

Keystone results did not improve from last year. This is perhaps due to an increase in economically disadvantaged students. PSSA results at the middle school were average, but did not show good growth from below basic to basic. On the other hand, PSSA results at the elementary school displayed growth above the state average.

PDE science session

Science teachers in both the middle and high schools were sent to a session on the national science curriculum standards. FASD is currently following the state curriculum, but switching to the national curriculum is under consideration.

Student athlete receives Extra Effort Award

Senior Carson Gilarno was recognized for receiving the KDKA Extra Effort Award. Gilarno received the award for his accomplishments on the soccer field this season and his success in the classroom.

High school innovations

A free plan discussion was provided for the high school project. The school board is looking to replace the doors and windows of the high school, along with other innovations. To make it affordable, the innovations will be no more than a level one project. This means no walls will be moved for the improvements.
