Principal’s Advisory Committee: “Staff works for the students”

The Principal’s Advisory Committee is yet another change for Freedom High School. This new system was created by Mr. Timothy Dadich, “to give students a direct line [to the Administration],” Dadich said. Students should also be enthusiastic about their ability to promote change through the committee. Since the group will be composed of students, the issues will reflect heavily on their desired changes. For example, there had been interest in adding new courses to the school’s curriculum for some time. “While we have to take a look at the budget, which is going to be coming out in the next month, [Dr. Fuller is] completely on board with increasing the number of electives that we have here,” Dadich said. This will be the first of many expected changes. The committee also hopes to have scheduling completed before summer vacation this year and find ways to improve the overall attitude and function of the school. He is looking forward to hearing from the students. “Something that’s forgotten in schools often [is the staff] works for the students,” Dadich said. For this reason, Dadich is open to making changes based on student opinions. “I’m not necessarily closed to anything. You guys know what’ll help you the most. If you guys identify something that you think is going to help you and it coincides with the overall mission of the district, what are we accomplishing by not allowing that to happen?” Dadich asked.
