Vegas, Baby! Prom this year is all about the glitz and the glam. The junior class is sponsoring the junior-senior prom this year, and it is going to be big. “The turnout will be great. This will be the best prom Freedom has ever seen,” Zachary Wilson, Junior Class President said. Things that are planned to happen that will make this prom Vegas-themed are different casino games, including: craps, roulette, blackjack and Texas hold em’ for a period of the night. However, no real gambling will be taking place. Participants will use tickets that can be entered into several drawings. Senior Mason Fischer is one of the many students excited about prom. “It’s going to be new and different compared to the past few years since there is actually a theme.” Several other surrounding school districts have also had this theme with much success. There are a lot of things to do beforehand to ensure that prom is a fun event. For the girls, there is a long list of to-dos. Finding a date, dress and getting nails done, to name a few. The guys have the tasks of finding a date, getting a tux and getting all cleaned up. The prom will be held at the Marriott in Cranberry, and the Grand March will be held at the high school at 7:00 p.m. May 18. Students will then get in their big trucks, fancy limos and everyday cars to head to the Marriott to party until 5:00 a.m. Tickets for prom are $140 per couple and are currently on sale in Mr. Rosa’s room.
