Realtiy TV: Keeping up with the Krazies

Everyone has their guilty little pleasures that they indulge in from time to time. Mine happens to be the crazy world of reality television. I’ll be the first to admit once you start watching you can’t stop. I religiously watch several reality TV shows throughout the year. My top four being “Snooki & JWOWW,” “Survivor,” “Keeping up With the Kardashians” and, most importantly, “Dance Moms.” If I miss one episode of any of these shows, I can’t function correctly the next day. I feel like no matter where I turn someone is going to tell me what I missed or something along those lines. As for “Survivor,” that is all my dad’s fault. He allowed me to watch against my mother’s will. It all started with Richard Hatch and his fellow castaways dueling it out to become the ultimate survivor while in the islands of Borneo. I was five years old. After 12 years, I have never missed an episode. I used to wear an orange dress that someone would probably wear to a luau and bright red lipstick when I was a little girl in honor of “Survivor” being on. Thankfully I grew out of that phase. Now “Dance Moms,” I just can’t help it. I used to be one of those girls, crazy mother in tow and all. Sadly my dancing days came to a crashing halt when I was in the 8th grade. I was diagnosed with Frieberg’s Disease (a condition where you lose all blood flow to the bones in your feet.) The doctors told me if I ever had any intentions of walking again, the first step was to quit dance. Maybe I vicariously live out my dancing years through Chloe Lukasiak and Maddie Zeigler. Finally for “Keeping Up” and Snooki & “JWOWW,” go ahead, judge me. I don’t care, they’re Nana approved. That’s all that matters.
