T.V. Crews at Freedom?

Many students were puzzled to find unfamiliar men holding cameras and microphones in the hallways of FHS Dec. 7. PBS, the Public Broadcasting Service, spent the day at Freedom interviewing students, teachers and parents. The network is completing a documentary that compares public and cyber schooling, and chose to follow around two students who made the switch from cyber to public schooling: Senior Nathaniel Kusich and Junior Austin Wall. “At first I was like really nervous, and I didn’t know what to expect,” Wall said. The camera man talked to me through it all, and I was walking down the hallway with everyone just staring at me, and it definitely made me more nervous.” Though Dr. Staub is unsure as to why the network chose to document Freedom, he said that Freedom may have stood out based on the fact that our district is relatively outspoken against cyber schooling. The program will be aired in five weeks on PBS.
