Ok, so we’ve all discussed what bands we wish we could see again, or which bands flat out should’ve never happened. So it is my privilege to give you the three bands that should be reunited and the three that should definitely not…(yes, members could be deceased). Ok well I’ll start with the bands that should definitely be apart. First, how about Van Halen. Even though they are one of my favorites, it is time for all of us to realize that they cannot find a lead singer to stay with them long enough to sustain any success. They were a great band, but WERE is the key word here. It is time to announce that there will NEVER be a comeback for these once great rock geniuses. Hmmm, second on my unfortunate list, The Who. They had their first farewell tour in 1982. That there is enough said, but they don’t even have the original cast anymore! Teenage wasteland doesn’t even apply anymore, these guys are so old…it is time to hang it up! I love The Who, I mean, loved them. I cannot stand to see a band that were said to be the fathers to most of the rock we hear today, choke it up on stage…may you RIP. And finally, I bet most of you were expecting me (well those who know me) to say The Beatles…though I find them straight awful I can’t argue their success, therefore my argument in this article is void. So, instead I chose, STP or Stone Temple Pilots, only because Scott Weiland (also lead singer of Velvet Revolver) can’t stay sober for more than ten minutes…that’s the only argument I need, he would pass out before every show…or cause a catastrophe like usual. Now for my three bands that SHOULD be back together in harmony. First off, Creed. No one will argue this choice because Creed is considered the most popular Christian rock band of all time. I don’t even know how to argue that this band should not be together. Rock bands today, like The Killers, would be nothing without a band such as Creed. They are to their genre what Nirvana, The Beatles, and Black Sabbath were to theirs. Anyways, on to my second choice, the Talking Heads. This would be Tears for Fears, but they are back together to my delight, anyways…the Talking Heads weren’t great, but they were fun and something not found in music today. I can’t remember being cheered up as much as I was when listening to one of this band’s songs. Plus the fact that they had a “cult following,” how do you argue with that? And for my final choice, Nirvana. Yes Kurt Cobain has passed away, I don’t care. They were, in my eyes, the greatest band ever and should never have left us. Their lyrics and music just flowed so well that anyone could find the meaning in their songs, but the meaning was always something of importance. Kurt Cobain was one of the most disturbed men I have ever heard, but he said what he thought was needed to be said…”It’s better to burn out than to fade away.” – Kurt Cobain. These are words that every single person should listen to and follow. We need more musicians like him. He even inspired his drummer, David Grohl to form the Foo Fighters…what more influence can there be?! We need Nirvana, therefore they are my final pick.
