We hate change

Do you ever wonder why change makes people so mad? It seems as though personal changes, ones that you have control over, are perfectly acceptable. But when a person becomes accustomed to something in their everyday life, change becomes the absolute enemy. High on the long list of a Freedom high schoolers’ complaints are the changes Facebook has constantly been making. From the newest update, we now have to click an extra time to see recent posts or post a status. Students are angry, talking about how they now hate Facebook. They express that hatred by posting their feelings on Facebook… which is a bit hypocritical, don’t you think? I’ll admit I’m not too fond of it either, but the changes made by Facebook didn’t really affect my life. School rules have changed a lot, but more than just the new food and cafeteria rules caused a major upset to the student body. The first day of school, choose where you sit at lunch wisely, because that decision will affect your lunches forever. Each circle of friends is basically assigned a lunch table and a particular seat to themselves. You must absolutely sit in the same place to avoid making your lunch buddies frustrated with you. The seating on the bus follows the same concept; students get so upset over such little things. Change your hair, change your clothes, but absolutely do not change up the seating. It seems as though we are just generally upset by, and hate, change. People always ask for change; when it happens, though, they only wish things could go back to the way they were. Changing anything becomes traumatic when anyone but yourself is affected. High schoolers like drama and change makes for a dramatic year. In the grand scheme of things, the world could end and kids would still be fighting over who sits where in their graves.
